Who we are

CareRest is an app built to support family caregivers of people living with dementia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your health-related data with care.

What data we collect

When you use CareRest, we collect the following information:

• Email address and display name (for your account)
• Patient name you provide
• Sleep logs: hours slept, quality ratings, night awakenings, wandering events, and notes
• Caregiver check-ins: stress level, hours slept, and caregiving difficulty
• Medication names, dosages, and schedule times
• Sundowning and behavioral observation logs
• Journal entries you write or dictate (stored only on your device, not on our servers)
• Apple Health data, if you connect it: sleep stages, heart rate, and step counts (read and analyzed on your device, not uploaded to our servers)
• Device time zone (used to display dates correctly)
• Approximate GPS location (optional, only when using Local Services, not stored)

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the features of CareRest:

• Displaying your sleep logs, trends, and weekly summaries
• Sending medication reminder notifications to your device
• Generating personalized sleep tips through AI services (see below)
